The Delhi Government has issued a notice for lockdown in the capital city due to the increasingly widespread Covid-19 cases in Delhi. The time for this lockdown is starting from 10 PM on Monday (19th April 2021) till 5 AM on 26th April 2021. All non-essential services are prohibited during this lockdown. However, the government has allowed only essential services to operate in the capital. What are those essential services, where to apply, and how to apply? Let's discuss this in detail.
All those persons who are directly or indirectly involved in any of the essential services can apply for e-Pass in Delhi.
Emergency service workers such as police, prisons, Home guard, civil defense, fire and emergency are not required to apply for e-pass in Delhi. Services like public transport, disaster management, and related services are also excluded from lockdown and can work normally. Patients with medical problems, media personnel, students (for examination) will be allowed to function by showing valid identity proof.
The individuals can apply for an e-pass through the government portal of the Delhi government. The District Magistrate has the authority to issue an e-pass in Delhi.
Before moving further, only those who are involved in any essential services as mentioned above should apply for an e-pass. Any individual who wishes to apply with wrong or incorrect information will be liable for prosecution under sections 177 & 191 of the Indian Penal Code.
The steps for applying an e-pass for lockdown in Delhi are quite simple.
Step 1. Visit the government website
Step 2. Click on the option ‘Click here to apply for ePass for Night Curfew from 10:00 AM & Weekend Curfew’.
You will be redirected to another page asking for your preferred language. Then after selecting language the next page will appear with options like 'Check status' and 'What do you need help with'
Step 3. Click on the pop-up menu under 'what do you need help with' and select ‘e-Pass for travel during Curfew’.Click on ‘submit’.
Fill in all the personal details like phone number, name, district, and address of office or place of your engagement(workplace)
Step 4. Fill in the type of service you are engaged in, the time duration for your work, and the date from and until you will be needing ePass.
Step 5. Now you need to upload your ID proof (Aadhar Card or PAN Card).
Note: You need to upload both sides of your identity proof
Step 6. Document or letter confirming the essential service that you provide.
Step 7. Click on 'Submit'. A Reference ePass ID would be sent to you via your mobile number to check the status of your ePass ID.

Step 3. Click on 'Check status' and enter your 7 character ePass I'd to check the status.
Note: If someone already holds a Night/Weekend Curfew ePass, then they do not have to re-apply. Their ePass shall be considered automatically.
